About Us

Sierra County, home of Spaceport America, the worlds first civil Spaceport, is the best kept secret in the state of New Mexico and the entire Southwest Region. For years, Sierra County has laid claim to some of the most beautiful mountain and desert terrain in the entire state. We also have exclusive rights to the only area in the state, or region, that teems with activity with the largest lake in the state, or southwestern region, Elephant Butte Lake.

That in itself would be enough to consider Sierra County an outdoor wonderland, but then add the fact that all this is nestled along the banks of the Rio Grande river, and minutes from the Gila National Forest…with Great Food, Hospitality, unique Hot Mineral Springs and interesting shops, history and people…well where else would you go for a vacation that HAS IT ALL!
